The Pion was designed by the famous E.G. van de Stadt in 1972 and is a national one design class. Besides nearly 40 years of good racing on open water and sea the Pion is also an excellent boat for cruising. Easy to sail short handed. The Pion has a superb behaviour in rough weather at sea, like must of the Van de Stadt designs. The Pion was the biggest class in the 2010 Round of North Holland (110 mile), 250 entries.
